Instead, this week, you get another return visit from our friends in the ex-Yugoslavian region and the great Dark Scene, oNe and PlutoniumProduct.  They throw some classic and rarely heard tracks together for your listening pleasure, and tell some great stories as filtered through a few dozen bottles of beer.

So join the party and listen to the fun that these two have in contributing to this weeks show, episode #666…er…#132.

Razor Blade Dance Floor Podcast: Episode 093, Part 1

Archive release of episode 93, Part 1 of Razor Blade Dance Floor.

Originally published on April 26, 2009

Original show notes from this episode:

Here an episode of Razor Blade Dance Floor like no other.  It is dedicated exclusively to the region of the world now known collectively as the Balkan States, or more maybe more familiar as the area once known as Yugoslavia.

In this area there is a music scene and collective best known as The Dark Scene, and in a partnership with Razor Blade Dance Floor, this music scene is dissected and explored in great detail in a very informative and entertaining podcast.  It was so big, that it needed to be broken down in to 2 parts.

In this first part, you will hear about the area of the world that is this podcasts subject matter, the creation of the Dark Scene, and information about some of the bands that are important to that scene.

Here is what you will hear on Part 1:

  • Siddharta – B Mashina (Nord, 2001)
  • Psyho-path – Air rager (Terminal, 2000)
  • Crossroatsz – War (Unkillable Constitution, 2006)
  • VIVIsect – Neusatz (Live, 1992)
  • Katarza – Schlog (Katarza, 1994)
  • Rapid Force – Hero (Apotheosis Of War, 1995)
  • Overdose – Nerve on It (demo, 1992)
  • Retro Mind – New Mind (Soundcutting 2 1999)
  • Bjesovi – Vreme je (Bjesovi, 1994)
  • Klopka za Pionira – Da li hoces da ti pevam (Planetarni covek, 2006)
  • Koh – Thoughtful Animal (The Censor EP, 2008)
  • Croatia – SexA – No Sleep Till Pussy (No Sleep Till Pussy, 1990)
  • Transmisia – Pure Impurity (Dumbshow. 1993)
  • Kismet – Dom (Mizar Tribute, 2000 ??)
  • Anastasia – Face (Nokturnal, 1998)
  • Mizar – Stoj (Mizar, 1988)
  • Laibach – Drzava (Laibach, 1985)
  • Borghesia – Naked uniformed dead (Escorts and Models, 1988)
  • Figurative Theatre – Saturation V2.0 (Analoque Monstrosities, 2006)

The information and bands represented on this podcast certainly don’t cover the entire Dark Scene, so it is encouraged that you use this show as a starting point to discovering a great music scene.  Here are a few links to get you started on exploring the scene while you are listening to the show:

As always, support the artists as well as this scene. You will hear how One and Plutonium Product talk about a scene without geographical and political borders, and this is a concept that is in direct line with the philosophies of Razor Blade Dance Floor. It doesn’t matter which part of the world you live in.  You are a part of the industrial community, and no border should stop you from making each other stronger by supporting the artists and their creations.

If you haven’t done so already, download part 2. It’s just as good as part 1!
