Original show notes from this episode:

The “Lost” Society Burning Interview

In November of 2010, I conducted an interview with all 3 members of Society Burning the night before I suffered a catastrophic failure with my computer. At that time, and for months following, I thought that all was lost. Today, after using hard drive sector recovery software, I was finally able to retrieve the file that was the interview.

So after months of advertising the infamous review, I can finally present to you the final version of the interview. The actual interview lasted almost 40 minutes longer, but a lot of it was the 4 of us trying to get on the same page, so I edited out all of the mayhem and gave you the most listenable version of this conversation.

I think that you will enjoy it. There is a lot of ground covered, and you will find that not only are Society Burning a great band, they are an even better group of individuals. They are talented artists, great human beings, fans of this music, and also wonderful friends.

I thank them for their time, as well as their patience in getting this interview up. It may be 18 months later, but the information that we cover is still very relevant.

I also thank you, the listeners of the show and fans of Society Burning for waiting this long for this “lost” interview to finally be unveiled. Your long wait for this moment has finally been rewarded.

Original show notes from this episode:

Here is an episode that takes the time to look ahead, but with the recent passing of Wax Trax co-founder Dannie Flesher, it was necessary to take a look back. Because, after all, in order to know where you are going, you need to know where you have been. So the show starts off with a tribute of sorts to Dannie, as well as his partner Jim Nash who was lost to us back in 1995. I just hope that I did those two fine gentlemen some sort of service.

Following the Opening tribute set, there is plenty of drunken banter about what everyone can look forward to seeing and hearing this year. Somehow in the midst of all of this talk, I find a way to play some music. Here is what is played n the show:

  • Revolting Cocks – No Devotion (12″ Version) [Big Sexy Land] (1986)
  • My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult – The Days of Swine & Roses (KMFDM Mix) [The Days of Swine & Roses/Naïve (Single)] (1990)
  • A Split Second – Rigor Mortis [A Split Second] (1988)
  • Front Line Assembly – Resist [Caustic Grip] (1990)
  • Sister Machine Gun – Not My God [Sins of the Flesh] (1993)
  • Youth A.D. – State of Terror [Dark: Scene Volume 10] (2009)
  • Dreddup – Wheels [Advance Album Preview] (2010/2011)
  • KMFDM – Bait & Switch (Sacred Cow Mix by Prong) [Krieg] (2009)
  • Skold – Bullets Ricochet [Bullets Ricochet Single]
  • UCNX – 21st Century [Songs From The Hydrogen Bar: A Tribute To Chemlab] (2006)
  • Society Burning – Double Plus Minus [Internal Combustion (Rough Mix/Demo)] (2010)
  • The Rabid Whole – Selfish Nature (16 Volt Remix) [000] (2009)
  • Left Spine Down – Reset (Stiff Valentine Remix) [Smartbomb 2.3: The Underground Mixes (Disc 1)] (2009)
  • Die Krupps – Wahre Arbeit Wahrer Lohn (Featuring Douglas McCarthy) [Extended Electronics] (2006)
  • Melt – P.O.S. [Unreleased Demo] (2010)
  • B.O.S.C.H. – So Weit [Einsam] (2010)

Your New Years resolution this year should be to enjoy life to the fullest. Get out and support the bands and let the music of this year carry you to great heights. At least that is what my resolution is…
